What You Do Today Will Shape What Your Tomorrow Will Look Like
We are all given 24 brand new hours each day. These hours can be exciting and productive or painful and borring. Now if you ask most people they will probably tell you that they want their future to be extraordinary, happy and peaceful.
Well it turns out that in order to have these exciting tomorrows we must invest in the 24 hours that we have today. In other words, what you do today has a huge influence on what you get later in life. If you spend the next 24 hours complaining, blaming others for your problems and constantly worrying, chances are your future will match your present. However, if you spend the next few 24 hours inspiring people, taking care of yourself and investing in your personal development then you are likely to have a promising future.
I've discovered 2 things about life:
#1 Nothing worth having is necessarily easy to get.
#2 The best time to start accomplishing your goals is now. (even if you don’t have everything figured out yet)
My question to you right now is how are you spending your 24 hours? Do you find yourself worrying about everything, putting out fires and constantly getting distracted by other people's agendas? Or are you learning how to let things go, setting boundaries, and ultimately living your dreams. Today is your day and it’s a gift. You will never get this day back and once it's gone- that’s it. We can either invest our time into something that is going to give us a return on our investment or we can continue living a mediocre life saying one day i'll get it done. when the time is right we often say. I've heard it said before that the best time to plant an oak tree was 20 years ago. The 2nd best time to plant an oak tree is now. In other words, you probably should have started whatever it is that you need to do already. But, since you didn't do that the only time to begin is now.
Today's Action Step:
Write down your goals for this year. Once you have them written down make a plan on how you are going to achieve them. Once you have the list made up begin immediately. If you are doing something that doesn’t align with your plan then stop doing it. For example if you want to lose 20lbs then look at your diet and daily activities today. If the food you eat and the things you do are not contributing to you losing 20lbs then eliminate them from your life-(because its not working).
My philosophy in life is take what works and make it better. If it’s not working stop doing it-it’s not working!
